Propane Council Selects Logica3 to Develop Consumer Safety Materials
West Dundee, IL—March 25, 2006—The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) selected Logica3 to create a new generation of consumer safety information for the propane industry. The new materials include a comprehensive 28-page guide to residential propane safety, brochures on small cylinder safety and homeowner safety, and a series of safety warning tags and labels.
“The materials underwent an extensive due diligence process that incorporated the perspectives of consumers, propane marketers, safety professionals, regulators and other constituencies,” stated Stuart Flatow, PERC's vice president of safety and training.
As part of the process, Logica3 reviewed and analyzed 350 propane safety-related materials, interviewed more than 20 propane marketers and conducted focus groups with 190 consumers. Based on the research and interviews, Logica3 established a set of key safety messages to be used as a foundation for all future propane safety communications.
“A major challenge of the project was to keep consumer safety materials simple, understandable and engaging for all propane customers. Our team created a series of propane-specific icons, signal words and colors that helped to emphasize important safety information,” stated Larry Dombrowski, vice president of Logica3. “The result is a series of safety communication tools that appeals to propane consumers of diverse reading and comprehension levels.”
“Logica3 did an excellent job creating and implementing a process to develop consumer safety materials for the propane industry,” noted Flatow. “They helped to position the propane industry as a leader in consumer safety education.”
